The Pre-Work Interview
Do not assume the person laying the pavers cares about the plumber who comes next year. Ask these questions:
- "Have you identified where the sewer cleanout is relative to this pour?"
- "If a valve box is in the way of the mulch bed, are you raising it to grade or just burying it?"
- "How does the new grade slope? Where is the water going to exit the yard?"
- "Are you bringing in heavy machinery? What path will they take to avoid crushing the drainfield?"
- "Will this deck framing block access to the crawlspace door or basement windows?"
