Pinned and sealed. Verify what needs access before installing.
Natural grass is being removed, the ground compacted, and artificial turf is being rolled out and pinned.
Irrigation systems (which may no longer be needed), yard drains, and septic lids.
Walk the yard carefully before excavation. Mark every single sprinkler head, valve box, and drain grate.
Turf installers will cover everything to make the yard look perfectly flat. If you don't tell them to leave a drain exposed, they will carpet right over it.
Covering a yard drain with artificial turf will cause the turf to flood and lift during heavy rains. Finding the drain later requires pulling up glued or pinned seams, which ruins the seamless look.
Before the base is compacted. Ensure all drains are raised to the final height of the turf and cut cleanly around.
